Dr. Alipour’s research group explores the risk and resilience of civil infrastructures with aging components subjected to natural and manmade hazards. The research activities are focused on the fundamental development and practical application of probabilistic methods to evaluate the safety and reliability of various infrastructures, use of machine learning techniques to exploit large datasets of different origin, investigation of performance measures at the component and network level, and quantification and enhancement of resilience in light of the interdependency of infrastructure systems.
Dr. Alipour’s research group appreciates the trust and support from a number of private, state, local, and federal agencies to tackle a variety of critical research subjects.
